Battlefield Role: random CC and long range anti-tank and infantry troops

possitive treats: tough, high strenght, can penetrate vehicles, large blast

Downsides: slow, too much heavy fire can bring them down fairly fast

recomended game size: all from 750pts or higher. carnifexes are in many cases a must for any strong tyranid swarm!

the barbed carnifexes fullfill several roles in this swarm. anti-infantry blasters, anti tank blasters and heavy CC shock troops. why the barbed strangler and not a venom cannon? well, the venom cannon isnt good at infantry. the army relies on this carnifexes as the heavy shooting, and such the barbed strangler works wonders against infantry and vehicles alike. it can penetrate vehicles, not just glance as the venom cannon. this gives the fex a multi-task role and it can provide covering fire while charging into CC. they are tough, but try keep them away from the most heavy firepower such as lascannons, too much and they're wasted bug-meat.
